Sunday morning doughnuts
A delicious breakfast option, Sunday Morning Doughnuts are perfect for mornings or special occasions like brunch. This recipe covers 5% of your daily vitamin and mineral needs, making it a good choice for those following a lacto ovo vegetarian diet.

baking powder
2 Tbsps
ground nutmeg
0.5 tsps
ground cinnamon
0.5 tsps
ginger
0.5 tsps
sea salt
0.25 tsps
free range eggs
1 large
butter
1 Tbsp
milk
122 ml
runny honey
339 ml
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well (clean hands work great for the job).
- Turn onto a floured board and knead for a few minutes.
- Let rest
- Roll out to about 1/2" thick and cut out with a doughnut cutter.
- Heat about 4" oil (vegetable oil works fine, we use lard) to 360F
- Fry 3 or 4 doughnuts at a time, turning when one side is browned - fry until both sides are nicely browned.
- Drain on paper towels or on a paper bag. Makes about one dozen doughnuts.
